`KARAVESTICE` CARNIVAL - DAY OF FORGIVENESS AND HAPPINESS

On the occasion of "Poklade`, which marks the beginning of the Christian celebration of the great feast of Easter fasting period, Equestrian club "Nonius" in the cooperation with the Council and the citizens of Gornje Međurovo and under the auspices of Palilula Municipality, organized for the seventh time the carnival event "Karaveštice", with the aim of returning to national tradition and old original creation. Hosts and this year's "Carnival" were Toni and Jasna Ilieski. Theyhave tried to be good hosts.

More than 150 small costume ball participants and numerous guests at the opening ceremony in the village of Gornje Međurovo, were welcomed by Milos Stojiljkovic, a member of the Palilula Municipal Council. He stressed the importance of preserving folk customs and traditions that foster the inhabitants of this area, as well as good cooperation of the Municipality and Equestrian Club "Nonius".

To this celebration ceremony on the behalf of Palilula Municipality attended Ivica Stojanovic, a member of the Council of Municipality of Palilula, as well as members of the Cabinet of the Palilula Municipality.

The revival of these unusual folk customs in Gornje Medjurovo-skipping fire, "the expulsion of witches", most treated children, who traditionally come masked. The most beautiful and the most beautiful masks of "witches" also this year received awards.
